What is website monitoring?
Website monitoring is the continuous automated checking of a website to verify availability, performance, and correct behavior from one or more geographic locations. A website monitor sends periodic HTTP requests (typically every 30 seconds to 5 minutes), measures response time and status code, validates SSL certificates, tracks DNS and domain records, and verifies that every third-party resource the page depends on is still working. When any check fails, the monitor creates an incident and alerts the owner via email, Telegram, Slack, or webhooks — usually within 60 seconds of the failure. Modern website monitoring goes beyond a simple "HTTP 200 check" because most outages today are caused by a failing dependency (a CDN, font provider, payment widget, or API), not the origin server itself.
Why Website Monitoring Matters
Most outages start outside your server. When a CDN like jsDelivr or cdnjs goes down, your JavaScript stops loading. When Google Fonts becomes unreachable, your typography breaks. When a payment widget returns 503, users can't check out. Your server answers "HTTP 200 OK" the whole time, so any monitor that only pings your origin misses the failure entirely. The HTTP Archive Web Almanac reports that the median page now loads 22 third-party requests — every one of those is a potential failure point that a traditional uptime monitor ignores.
Single-region checks miss regional failures. A CDN edge can fail in Asia while serving fine from Europe. A DNS propagation bug can break a site for users in South America for 15 minutes. A geo-blocking misconfiguration can lock out an entire country. Upsonar checks from 9 locations across 3 continents — New York, London, Frankfurt, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, São Paulo, Mumbai, and Toronto — so region-specific problems are detected within 60 seconds, not reported hours later through a support ticket.
SSL and domain failures are silent, but fatal. An expired SSL certificate surfaces a full-screen browser warning that destroys user trust, kills conversions, and damages search rankings. An expired domain takes your entire website, email, and dependent services offline simultaneously. Both are preventable with advance alerts 30, 14, and 7 days before expiration — but only if something is actually checking every day. Calendar reminders get lost; auto-renewal fails when a credit card expires.

SSL Certificate Monitoring
Track certificate expiration and validity. Get alerts 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry.
Domain Expiry Monitoring
Automatic domain expiration tracking. Never lose a domain to missed renewal.
DNS Monitoring
Track DNS record changes (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT). Detect hijacking instantly.

How Website Monitoring Works
1. Add your website: Enter your URL and choose what to monitor — uptime, SSL, DNS, domain, or all of the above. Takes 30 seconds.
2. We check continuously: Every 1-5 minutes, we send requests from 9 global regions. We check not just your server, but every resource your page loads — CDNs, fonts, scripts, APIs.
3. Get instant alerts: When something breaks, you're notified via email, Telegram, or webhook within minutes. We verify from multiple regions to prevent false alerts.
4. Track and resolve: Each outage creates an incident with full diagnostics — response times, status codes, failed resources. Acknowledge, investigate, and resolve from one dashboard.
