Good to know about .de
- A .de contract runs for an indefinite period, so there is no expiry date: the domain lives until you or DENIC end the contract.
- Losing your provider does not kill a .de at once: DENIC holds it in TRANSIT and gives you a month to pick a new one.
- Because DENIC publishes no expiry date, our checker shows "not published" for .de and can only confirm the domain is registered.

What happens when a .de domain is not renewed?
No expiry date. Once deleted: 30-day grace, released the next day. In order: TRANSIT (one month), then Redemption Grace Period (30 days), then Release (next calendar day).
Can I get a deleted .de back through a new provider?
Yes, during the 30-day Redemption Grace Period. The new provider asks DENIC for an AuthInfo code, and DENIC sends it by registered mail to the holder address in its database, so that address has to be current. Your provider may charge you for the re-registration.
Who runs the .de registry?
DENIC eG. DENIC is a cooperative of its member providers. Renewal prices are set by your provider, but there is no grace period to set: a .de contract has no end date, and only once it is deleted does a 30-day Redemption Grace Period start.
