Where the .eu expiry date comes from

The .eu registry (EURid) does not publish expiry dates. Our checker still shows status, nameservers and the last change. Only your registrar knows the renewal date.

WHOIS (port 43): whois.eu, which answers but returns no expiry date

Registry: EURid

Good to know about .eu

  • Only EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway residents and organisations can hold a .eu, plus their citizens living anywhere.
  • EURid's WHOIS returns no registration or expiry dates at all, so our checker shows "not published" for every .eu domain.
  • A .eu that EURid revoked for failing the eligibility rules can only be reactivated by EURid itself, not by any registrar.
